Blood Orange Tartlets

These stunning little tartlets are so pretty they don’t even seem real! This recipe was created by Chloe Lai who showcases her delicious food and recipes on her Instagram page. This would be a great show stopper to have on the table or packed in a hamper for a lovely spring picnic. You could alternatively make them with Lemon or Lime.

This recipe is gluten free | refined sugar free



1 cup almond meal

1/4 cup tapioca starch

1 1/2 tbsp refined coconut oil

1 tbsp maple syrup

Pinch of salt


Mix all ingredients in a blender until the texture looks like wet sands. You might need to scrape the sides and bottom in between to make sure everything is well blended.

Press mixture to tart pan and bake at preheated 175 degrees Celsius oven for about 10 minutes or until they smell toasty.


1/2 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

2 tsp agar agar powder

Pinch of salt


Place all ingredients in a saucepan, heat over medium high heat.

Make sure to stir constantly until agar agar flakes are completely resolved.

Pour it over cooled tart shell and chill in the refrigerator for couple of hours.

Serve with fresh fruits and enjoy!
